4hr 22m | Digital | World Theatrical Premiere | Introduction by Louise Weard

Michaela “Traps” Sinclair is a trans woman and a sex worker in Vancouver who splits her time between seeing clients and hanging out with her group of trans friends. As the weight of the world piles up on her, she decides to reclaim some sense of control by seeking out a back alley orchiectomy.

Any film and film-maker that can draw comparisons to Rivette and Sarah Jacobson in the same breath commands attention. The first installment of writer-director-star Louise Weard’s magnum opus Castration Movie, a “trans girl exploitation movie full of sex and violence filtered through a DIY underground aesthetic”, is an audacious, hilarious, immersive, provocative, transgressive opening gambit, rivets that attention for over four hours. The film’s expansive cast includes Vera Drew (The People’s Joker), Alice Maio Mackay (T Blockers), Avalon Fast (Honeycomb), John Paizs (Crime Wave), and Lea Rose Sebastianis and Nate Wilson (The All Golden) amongst a mix of other emerging talent and weird and wonderful cameos.

The first part of this two part epic, Traps, presented here in its world theatrical premiere, includes Chapter i. Incel Superman and Chapter ii. Traps Swan Princess.
