However, the slim youth has become an overweight, ill-mannered man whose prominent trait is excessive voracity. When it emerges that the insatiable glutton is indeed the Devil himself, She is forced to do away with the interloper…

We’re thrilled to present the new restoration of this unsung classic of the Czech New Wave, the sole directorial outing for Ester Krumbachová, co-writer of Věra Chytilová’s Daisies (1966) and Fruit of Paradise (1970) and Jaromil Jireš’ Valerie and Her Week of Wonders (1970).
